Associations and rinks can register now to host in November, March

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Hockey announced today the opening of host-site registration for its 2017-18 Try Hockey For Free Days.

The season’s first nationwide Try Hockey For Free Day will be Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, as part of Come Play Hockey Month. The second opportunity will occur Saturday, March 3, 2018, the weekend following the XXIII Olympic Winter Games closing ceremony. Local youth hockey associations and rinks can register to host on either of those dates. USA Hockey provides official host sites with on- and off-ice training, jerseys and promotional resources.

USA Hockey's Try Hockey For Free program, with support from the National Hockey League and NHL member clubs, among others, is designed to provide youth hockey associations nationwide with a platform to introduce children to the sport. More than 143,000 children have participated in USA Hockey’s national Try Hockey For Free Days since the program’s inception in February 2010. Pure Hockey and Liberty Mutual Insurance are official sponsors of Try Hockey For Free Days.
